Muddy Waters has got to get his due! A force in blues music, he made his way from the Mississippi Delta to Chicago and went from playing the acoustic Delta sound to amplifying his guitar because the Chicago clubs were so noisy and raucous that no one could hear him play. He’s called the father of Chicago blues - which took the Delta blues sound and added electrification.

January has us celebrating the birthday and music of blues legend Elmore James. Plus loads of other great blues music.

December’s featured blues artist is Nina Simone, we’ll be playing tracks by her and learning about her throughout the night.

This dance event is powered by skilled DJs, who play mostly traditional blues music. R&B, soul, hip hop and other genres will be sprinkled in. Feel free to bring a snack, or drink to share.
